WELCOME TO THE BOUNTIFUL AGTEN TUFI!
Agten Tufi Festival, a vibrant celebration of beauty and bounty, embodies the unique spirit of Tupi.
This annual event, held on September 11th to commemorate the town's founding, is a fusion of ethnic and cultural dances, showcasing Tupi's rich heritage as a hub for diverse cultures, a bountiful agricultural center, and a place where various traditions thrive.
For over a decade, Tupi celebrated its foundation anniversary with the "Kasadyahan Festival."
However, this celebration, while joyous, lacked a distinct identity, often replicating elements from other festivals.
The name "Kasadyahan," meaning "merriment" in Visayan, became synonymous with generic festive celebrations, failing to capture Tupi's unique essence and aspirations.
Recognizing this need for a deeper connection, the municipality proposed a new festival name, Agten Tufi.
This shift aimed to refocus celebrations towards a more meaningful commemoration of Tupi's history and identity.
The new festival concept emphasizes cultural heritage and assets, creating a platform to celebrate Tupi's unique story.
Agten Tufi aims to be more than just a celebration; it aspires to be a powerful symbol of Tupi's aspirations.
By showcasing the interconnectedness of social, cultural, political, and economic institutions, the festival aims to highlight the town's development and progress, fostering a sense of community and pride.
This 71st Agten Tufi festival 2024 held a lot of fun activities and this year the festival lasts for 5 days, from september 7 to 11.
